some days i wish Parker was bigger than he is. my legs are killing and i have to go to work, wich means im bringing my cane. If Parker was bigger id use him instead, id be much less embarassed about that. and maybe itd give my work a good enough reason to let me bring him with me :(. oh well. only 2 more weeks in this work evaluation. i thing being able to bring Parker when i need him is going to be very important in my search for a real job.
i dont know why my nerves are on end today, but they are. im stressing about going in to work, and i have 2 hours before i go in, and ive been doing this for 2 weeks without Parker, but today i really wish he could come with me. oh well. ill figure this out eventually.

COMMON THINGS I HEAR, AND THE RESPONSES I WISH I COULD GIVE (part 1):

"omg a DOG!" (no dip.)

"you cant have a dog in the store!!" (yes, i can)

"are you blind or something?" (of course, that explains why im standing here reading a label)

"whats WRONG with you?" (yes, i LOVE sharing my medical history)

"It must be so hard to let them go" (hes NOT a pup, and im NOT a raiser.)

"awwww how old is your puppy??" (again, NOT a pup, 4 years old. just a bit small)

"hi puppy! hereeeee puppy puppy!! PUPPYYYYYYYY!!!!" (me:real mature, lady. Parker: mom, is she a big child?)

"my (insert relation here) has a dog too!" (yes. so do several billion other people... i care why?)

"awww can i pet himmmmm?" (can you read?)
--------------------------------------------------------
"Is that a *gasp* dog?" (no, clearly a rabbit)

"Dogs aren't ALLOWED" (go read the sign on the door of the store and tell me again)

"Ewww what if it has diseases!!" (EWWWWW what if your nasty 2 year old touches my food!!!!)

"Does it bite?" (yes, a lot, thats clearly why i take him in public)

"Woa, how did you get that dog in here?!" (dog? OH you mean my shapes hifting ninja. its easy)

"Where can I get one of those thingies (vests)"
(all you have to do is go get a disabling, painful condition, and ill GIVE you one!)

"Wow, it's so well trained!!" (The dog is just sitting there or laying there....) -_-" (yeah, takes YEARS to teach them to lay down...)

"Awww poor thing, you're so mean" (yup, thats why hes wagging his tail at me)

"Hi dog! What's your name?" (talks to the dog...)" (im sorry, he doesnt speak "idiot")

"I know I'm not supposed to pet you buuut.... (continues petting dog)" (*slaps hand* NO! bad human, BAD!)

(Person reads aloud "AUTISSSMMM SERRRVICE DOOOG") "Sooo, the dog is for like... blind people right?" x.x
(yes clearly. cause you know you spell blind a-u-t-i-s-m.)

(thank you sadie for these questions, responses are mine)

I couldn't decide what to write about really today, so i thought id put a funny Parker picture up. i decided to test his "pick it up" one day, so i asked him to lift this foam hammer that's like as long as he is, and the little sport did :) he even obliged me with a pose for a picture hahaha.
this IS a task, when I'm not playing around. He will pick up almost anything and deliver it to my hand, which is really helpful when I'm having a pain flair up. he'll bring things to me if i cant move very well, and lift them up when i cant bend over. and he's always wagging his tail to do it :)

short one for today, someday ill write out my list of things i hear EVERY time im out with Parker, but today i was gimping around at work with a cane (without SD), and a lady actually asked if it was mine! she was serious too. i wanted to get sarcastic and say i lifted it off some random customer, but no, i restrained myself and respectfully told her it was in fact mine and yes i have a legitimate reason for it. *sigh* and people wonder why i love animals so much...

well, long time, no blog :P but i cant sleep, so i figured id explain. the last couple months have been physically hard. i have chronic pain that hasn't been diagnosed yet. Parker is a champ, learning everything from right-side heeling, to unloading a dryer, to retrieving a cane for me.
2 clean MRI's is a good sign, but no answers is aggravating. also, I'm doing a "work evaluation" where basically I'm a grocery store clerk 12 hours a week, and it helps the disability agency help me get a job i can do.
so far its not too bad, im very sore afterwords, but its livable. Parker hasnt been going with me, and im ok with it because so far i haven't run into anything there that i cant do without him. 90% of his work is at home, the rest is when I'm out alone it seems.
This cane, on the other hand, is becoming an unwanted companion. i hope its not long term, but for as long as my legs hurt this bad, ill use one to take the weight off.
ok, typing hurts, and Parker's looking at me weird, must be bedtime! i hope to get better at maintaining this blog from here on. until next time, Parker and Karry
