short one for today, someday ill write out my list of things i hear EVERY time im out with Parker, but today i was gimping around at work with a cane (without SD), and a lady actually asked if it was mine! she was serious too. i wanted to get sarcastic and say i lifted it off some random customer, but no, i restrained myself and respectfully told her it was in fact mine and yes i have a legitimate reason for it. *sigh* and people wonder why i love animals so much...

well, long time, no blog :P but i cant sleep, so i figured id explain. the last couple months have been physically hard. i have chronic pain that hasn't been diagnosed yet. Parker is a champ, learning everything from right-side heeling, to unloading a dryer, to retrieving a cane for me.
2 clean MRI's is a good sign, but no answers is aggravating. also, I'm doing a "work evaluation" where basically I'm a grocery store clerk 12 hours a week, and it helps the disability agency help me get a job i can do.
so far its not too bad, im very sore afterwords, but its livable. Parker hasnt been going with me, and im ok with it because so far i haven't run into anything there that i cant do without him. 90% of his work is at home, the rest is when I'm out alone it seems.
This cane, on the other hand, is becoming an unwanted companion. i hope its not long term, but for as long as my legs hurt this bad, ill use one to take the weight off.
ok, typing hurts, and Parker's looking at me weird, must be bedtime! i hope to get better at maintaining this blog from here on. until next time, Parker and Karry

today has been an "off day" here, glad to spend it quietly and hopefully go out tomorrow.

lazy day

Parker here! Mommy's not feeling good today, so i'm typing! i'm doing my job, laying on mommys legs right now because she says they are "restless" tonight. yesterday mommy fell asleep at 7:30, and stayed asleep till 11am, but shes still tired. so i take care of her, and stay with her. i also helped her do laundry today because she couldnt pull the clothes out. i earned lots of praise :) mommy says im the best dog ever!

a day in the life

Well today was mostly fun for Parker and I, we used every ounce of his training so we could go to a concert tonight :) Parker keeps me from panicking by keeping pressure against me all the time, putting his front legs on my lap when my heart rate increased, and doing a controlled pull to help me enter and exit the crowd wen i was "spaced out". he did very well, only one minor glitch when one of the singing groups ran down the isle and we weren't expecting it! Parker and I were both off guard!.
Oh well, im pretty used to this. and the concert was really enjoyable with the help of Parker and boyfriend :) now im at home, still having a kind of hard time with sensory stuff (everything's loud, too bright, and itchy :P) and Parker's on my lap keeping me grounded :) i love this dog.
